A hook- and loop fastener connects the separate thumb edge of the wrist orthosis, so the thumb fixation may be completely removed after consistent therapy progress. Until then, the integrated aluminium frame provides individual adjustments of the thumb fixation anytime, e.g. in abduction position. The mobility of the distal phalanx of fingers and thumb remains during the entire wearing period, enabling the patients to easily accomplish tasks such as writing or grabbing.
The ManuSupport.rhizo is applied for example after irritation of the wrist and the thumb basal- and saddle joint; severe rhizarthritis as well as degenerative conditions.
